Your Website Will Make Money If

It wasn't long ago that I created my first website. I remember how excited I was about all the money I was going to make when I uploaded it to the world wide web. Yipee I thought, I'll have a ton of extra cash in no time.

I put the website up and waited. I waited and waited and yes, waited. The money didn't start flying in. Hmmm, maybe I need traffic I thought. So I purchased 10,000 hits to my site.

Allright, 10,000 hits will make me some money, right? Wrong. I paid money for nothing. The traffic was not targeted at all. In fact I'm not exactly sure who visited my website. That was just part of the problem. I'd like to outline four things that you need in order to have a website that produces income.

These aren't the only areas that will help you make money with your site, but they are a must in my opinion.

Targeted Niche

You become effective by being selective. This is an important truth when it comes to having a money making website. You need to figure out who your target audience is and choose a domain and add content based on them.

Don't put anything that isn't related to your target market. Do include helpful articles, videos and affiliate products that match your niche.

Tracking

As you begin to grow your website, you're visitors will increase. You need to know where these visitors are coming from and also where they aren't. If you see a lot of visitors coming from a key term or place that you are advertising your site, you know that's a good one to stick with. If you aren't pulling traffic for a key term or advertising place, then you know to beef it up a little more or pull out completely.

SEO

Ah, the dreaded Search Engine Optimization. This is a gray and sometime mystical set of words that some people shudder at when they hear. It's really not that hard and someone can learn a ton of great and easy to use lessons by just typing "free seo training" into google. You will find some great lessons that will help you set up your site to show up in the organic listings.

In Demand Product with good ad copy.

You must have a way to monetize your website. There are all kinds of ways to do this. You can allow google to place ads on your site and they will pay you each time someone clicks. Or you can go to affiliate companies like clickbank and find products to market on your site. The key here is to find something that sells and has suggestions for ad copy for your site.

I hope this short lesson will help you as you begin building a money making website!

Attractive Enhancements For Your Blog

Deciding on a blog design solution and implementing it is certainly a sound business decision and should reward the online web site owner with a vast amount of traffic as well as paying customers. Creating a blog is simple, painless, and easy to maintain. Popular blogging sites like WordPress and Blogger offer personalized services, numerous template designs, friendly search engine rankings, and helpful tutorials. Taking advantage of these opportunistic offerings should be a component of any successful online business venture. However, there is more to a blog than simply setting it up, performing routine maintenance, and providing periodic entries. Potential customers and visitors need to have good reasons for visiting your blog and remain as regular loyalists. Several enhancements to a blog can entice and deliver more web surfers when used effectively.

One enhancement that should be seriously considered is the use of video clips. Written text is obviously important and it's the cornerstone of any blog, but adding the occasional video clip can only serve to magnify an online web site's existence. Stephanie Collen, an online business marketer for a major clothing firm, describes the changes when video was introduced to the retailer's site. "Our site was text driven with many pictures and it seemed to be working effectively. When we added video clips to the mix, the results were amazing. A thirty-seven percent increase in traffic and sales rose by twenty-one percent. Video clips are here to stay at our site". Video supplies and software can be found at many places on the internet.

Another blogging business tip involves the use of audio clips and should be another feature for your blog. Collen also suggests using audio as an enhancement for your blog. "When we added video to the site, audio clips were phased out. Many customers complained and the audio section was restored much to their delight. We quickly learned that sound bites sell and never go out of style. It will continue to be a part of our marketing". Adding a few audio clips at opportune spaces on your blog will increase traffic flow and yield new customers. Audio equipment, supplies, and software can also be found at many places on the internet.

If the aforementioned enhancements are too much for your budget at this time, consider using pictures as a tool for driving more visitors to your site. Visual enhancements can sell far better than text only and is appealing to virtually every visitor. Also, if you have a blogging site such as 360 Blog Yahoo, Blogger, or WordPress, you can insert custom-made graphics . Graphics and photo editing software can easily be found with an internet search. Be sure to use the tools that meet your standards.

A blog design solution that incorporates stunning enhancements will make every blogging experience a rewarding endeavor. By using video, audio, and graphical improvements, your online business blog will witness a surge in visitors and customers.

Strategies For Company and Corporate Blog Communication

In this current day and age all businesses need communications blogs. And I can tell you this, our company had one of the first communications blogs for our team of franchisees and it sure made waves in the franchising industry, in fact, the Federal Trade Commission came calling. Today, it's a much different story, since the new millennium the number of company and business blogs has been grown by leaps and bounds.

If you run a modern corporation, and do not have a communication blog then you will be considered un-cool, not with it and definitely not hip. Yes, I know that is harsh, but realize too, that this is not your daddy's corporation; this is the new information age. In Collins' books; "Built to Last" and "From Good to Great" he explains how great companies allow for change and how they maintain their edge by listening to customers and seizing opportunity in the market place.

Indeed, I am quite confident that Collins and his team of researchers at Stanford Business School would applaud the open communication that goes on today between consumers and corporations on their blogs and websites. It's all good. Of course, before you start a corporate blog you must realize that you indeed need a strategy in place and understand the speed of the Internet and carefully decide what to post and how it will be received.

If you do not have a corporate blog, get with it, you need one ASAP, but if you do not know what you are doing you need to find a corporate communication consultant who understands how it works and an attorney that understands the rules and knows what can and cannot or should not be posted. Consider all this.

WordPress Blogging in a Web 2.0 World - 7 Tips to Get Started With Your Web 2.0 Blog

Let's find out what Web 2.0 really is and how you can take advantage of it in your WordPress Blog.

Web 2.0 is about 25% marketing, and 25% hype. But, it's mainly a way of thinking. It's about simpler design and encouraging interaction with and among others.

By following these 7 tips, you will be well on your way to creating your Web 2.0 blog.

1. Social Bookmarking - Take you current blog to the next level with the Share This plug-in. It lets your readers do your social bookmarking chores for you. Get accounts at the sites included in the plug-in and above all - fill out your profile.

2. Video Blogging - To get started, incorporate YouTube videos on your blog.

3. Audio Blogging - Record your own audio using a free program called Audacity and upload the mp3 to your blog. In a blog post, blog about your audio and put the link in for people to listen.

4. FeedBurner - Burn your feed and let FeedBurner create the code that you can paste into a sidebar widget to let people be alerted when there are new posts.

5. Comments - Yes or No?

Turn them on but set them up correctly. Use the built in spam catcher, Akismet, to help catch spam comments. Make people give you their name and e-mail address before they can post a comment. Moderate each person's first comment and above all, have an e-mail sent to you whenever there is a new comment so you can go and look at it. Remember - it's YOUR blog and you decide what comments do and do not appear.

Send an e-mail when you have a new post. Tell people to go read it and comment on it.

6. Twitter - Get a Twitter account and use the plug-in TwitterTools. Set it up correctly and it will give you a lot of Tweeting power. And you don't even need to go to Twitter if you don't want to. It will put your posts on Twitter for you - automatically. But do spend some amount of time on Twitter. You need to interact with people you are following and people who are following you.

7. Facebook - Facebook is a community builder. For blogging, install the WordBook plug-in. This will post your blog posts to your FaceBook profile page - again automatically. As with Twitter, spend some amount of time on Facebook interacting with others. You might want to create your own FaceBook group - like the WordPress Mastermind Group.

Web 2.0 is all about interactivity and building a community.

Come in to the world of Web 2.0 blogging. I think you'll like it.

Is The Government Reading Your Blog?

We know that most people fear too much government and they fear that the government is listening into their phone calls. But in reality why would the government give a flying hoot when you are going to pick up your kids from soccer practice. Of course if you are calling overseas and talking to Al Quaeda, well they might like to know about that.

Most Bloggers are somewhat worried that the government is collecting all the information that they write on their Blogs. Of course they are, why wouldn't they collect that information and go thru it with super computers to see who is saying or doing what? Recently a Blogger stated that they believed that the government is collecting everything they write on their Blog.

I am most certain that they are ABSOLUTELY correct on that. And there must be TeraFlops of information available and it makes sense too, as any website can be changed at any time. I like the concept of those sites, which allow you to look back in time to see the old content VS. the new. And the Government has all the old stuff as well, although keeping up with all the new personal sites and Blogs must be a real chore for them.

Since Blogs are so powerful on the Internet and now that this has become such a workable platform with consistent guidelines throughout the Internet this is helping foster the forward progression for open communication we seek in our society. Along with the Social Phenomena of Blogs and the interaction and control they offer the participants it appears that such a communication device will continue to grow as specialized groups form around the planet into networked social tribes. In one paper I have been perusing;

"Blogs - A Global Conversation" by James Torio

It appears to me that there is no end to the expansion and revolution in modern day communication and social interaction that Blogs are causing in cyberspace. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.

A blog is not only great for the search engines, it is fantastic for exposing your personality and allowing people to see the person behind the sales pages. If you are well versed in a niche it makes complete sense to have a blog on the topic. Doing this allows you two perfect options for exposure:

1. People in your niche can interact with you through the comment feature on your blog which shows that you are ready and available for any questions or concerns they may have.

2. Running a blog with daily updated content shows that you are knowledgeable on a topic and displays your authority in a way that connects it with your personality.

People love to buy from other people that they like and trust. Doing this with a blog can be very easy because let's face it, you are doing the research anyway so you can then put that to good use with a blog that is regularly updated. This not only serves as your own personal platform but it actually increases your readers interest.

Many potential customers may have a little interest in a product/industry, and then after seeing your daily blogging they can increase their awareness of other things in a market which can make them more open to what you are recommending and offering. This in turn conveys your whole message and concept through a totally different format. Your site visitors get to absorb the information in a more comfortable way than the general sterile format of a website and information pages.
